Born in Sri Lanka, my parents moved to Nigeria in 1980. I was eight years old when I got my first camera, a Sunpet - 616 on a trip to the UK. Summers were spent traveling, Seychelles, India, England, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Kenya, Canada, the US(well NYC...), and other places I don't remember...
By 1988, Nigeria was in a state of flux, under its second Military government. Sri Lanka was 4 years into a continuing civil conflict. The Nigerian currency lost its value overnight and my parent's expectations of wealth had evaporated; and Canada, Toronto, became home to another refugee family.
